The Business Executive Media Group is introducing a new awards scheme known as the Ghana Titans Awards. This award aims to identify and publicly celebrate men and women in Ghana who stand out at the very epitome of the country’s polity, economy and society and thus who are appreciated as those who reflect the nation’s standing both locally and internationally and who are thus pivotal in driving the pace and direction of the nation’s socio-economic growth and development and determining its positioning among the global community of nations.
All Ghanaians whose activities have impact on the country’s fortunes, as well as foreigners domiciled in Ghana are eligible for consideration for the awards, as long as they meet our awards selection criteria, which are stated in this document.
For the purposes of this awards scheme, no specific sector or any other type of categories have been delineated. Awards will be conferred strictly on nominees’ assessed excellence with regards to the awards selection criteria. To this end, awardees will be selected using a multi-stage selection process involving the findings of our dedicated research consultants and ultimately our specially constituted Awards Selection Jury, comprising 12 identified experts on socioeconomic, political and cultural affairs and consequent impacts firstly in Ghana particularly and secondly on the rest of the world. We are using expert selection rather than public voting to eliminate the effects of public sentiments rather than objective assessments based on the stated selection criteria, which a significant proportion of the voting public may not be able to fully comprehend and assess anyway.
Therefore, all participants in the selection process will be guided by clearly established assessment criteria as set out below. Each criterion will be weighted to create a quantitative scoring model albeit with scores necessarily derived from qualitative assessments of each nominee, first by our research consultants and ultimately by our Awards Selection Jury. The selection process is designed in such a manner as to remove any influence in the decisions by the organizers themselves whose roles are restricted to providing logistical support at each stage of the selection process through a dedicated awards secretariat.
While no specific award categories will be applied, awards will be conferred on two distinct broad segments of nominees. One is the titans segment itself, under which thoroughly experienced, accomplished nominees will be considered. The other segment will comprise “new generation” titans, who are relatively young and upcoming people from various fields who have already shown incontrovertible potential to achieve extraordinary accomplishments and who have made impacts on the Ghanaian polity and elsewhere in the world well beyond their peers with regards to age and professional or entrepreneurial experience.
No fees will be charged for award nominations. Award winners will be conferred with their awards at a Five Star Gala Event to be held at a venue in Accra and on the 21st of March 2025.
TBE also organizes several annual award schemes, including its flagship Business Executive Excellence Awards and the Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards among others; as well as corporate/institutional events such as conferences, seminars/workshops and networking fora.
